My New Life in USA

By Julia

In February 21st, my parents and relatives saw me off at the airport. I knew that everyone doesn’t want let me go, but I had to go. I should create my life by myself. I wiped my tears away, and flew across the Pacific Ocean. I came to a new place and started my new life here.

I live in South Pasadena where is far away from Riverside, so I always take almost an hour on the freeway, I must get up early in the morning, in order not to get involve in the bad traffic jam. It is really a long distance, which makes me crazy.

Studying in IEP is happy. I am so glad to meet so many new friends come from different countries. I heard that some of us will come back to their countries or move to another place after this quarter, and I will transfer my school to Los Angeles. It is quite a short time we have lessons together. Maybe we can also keep in touch with each other after this quarter.

I think my life in Los Angeles is colorful. I can eat different kinds of food in different restaurant. I love food ^_^. I really enjoy it. I like the Shanghainese Restaurant most. All of the waiters there are Shanghainese, and they speak in Shanghainese, which makes me feel so relaxed. And also the foods there are full of the taste of Shanghai! I love it!!! Shopping is my hobby!~^_^ Sometimes, I go shopping so often that the people who work in the store have already know me. Many things in USA are really cheaper than that in our countries. It is so exciting!

I love my new life in USA. I think I am old enough to learn how to live without my parents, I should take care of myself, and create my new life by myself. I believe that I will be fine, and I really enjoy it! ^_^

  2. I really envy your new life in Los Angeles, especially said Shanghainese restaurant!! Riverside is good place for studying English, but sometimes I want to do something more exciting activities... Anyway, we cannot stay Riverside for long time, but we will try our best and enjoy our class #541 with classmates!

  3. Pasadena!!!!!so far...you can buy Universal Studios annual pass and go to there many times!
I also hate traffic jam that is too terrible, so I usually avoid using the highways on rush hour.
By the way, I think LA has more delicious food than here, and congratulate you have new life in California!
